235JR and S355J2+N are structural steel grades defined by European standards (EN). Both materials have low carbon content and are designed for various structural applications.

S235JR: With a carbon content of approximately 0.17%, this material is suitable for light structures and general structural applications.
S355J2+N: This material, with a carbon content of 0.20%, is preferred for structures requiring higher durability and those working under heavy loads.

Both materials have a minimum service temperature of -20°C. Therefore, both S235JR and S355J2+N can be safely used at temperatures of -20°C and above. However, for special applications requiring lower or higher temperature conditions, relevant standards, engineering calculations, and temperature endurance tests should be considered.
